'93 Reds Upset in the State Quarterfinals

The Dos'93 Reds came out strong against the Whatcom FC Rangers and pressed the goal early for shot after shot, several corner kicks and good solid crosses but never quite found the net in the '09 State Quarterfinals. The Rangers scored in the first half off a free kick from about the 35-40 yard marker that sailed high and just under the crossbar. Dos found themselves with their backs against the wall, flustered and couldn't quite settle the ball their way as they battled for possession end to end. After half the Rangers kept tight on their defense pressuring Dos hard not allowing any time on the ball and forced turnovers and tough passes. Whatcom managed one more goal on a loose ball in the box that bounced around and found the foot of an open forward who took a hard shot just out of reach of the keeper. Dos answered late on a followup on a free kick that was fired into the back of the net. A very controversial offsides call by the AR unfortunately took the tally away. The game ended in a 2-0 upset loss for the Reds who now have just a week off and then tryouts begin. It was a day of surprise losses as the reigning State Champions Crossfire also was handed a defeat losing 2-0 in their round of play. It was a tough day but it just proves in the game of soccer you never know....and anything can happen. The goal for the team, coaches and parents remains the same do your best, aim for the prize and persevere over your obstacles and competition on and off the field. Congratulations ladies on a great season. We are very proud of you. Remember ladies.... "Chase the Dream not the Competition!!!"

Reds Slated to Play Whatcom FC in State Quarterfinals

The Dos '93 Reds play Saturday May 2nd 11:30 @ Auburn Mountainview HS against the Whatcom FC Rangers.  In their most competitive season yet Dos has had many challenges to overcome from the loss of key players due to relocation, conflicts, ongoing and substantial injuries to the rigors of high school soccer and academics.  Coach Arrant and team took on each obstacle as an opportunity coming together, working even harder, moving many players from familiar to foreign positions and in the end created a richer and more balanced attack.  The team deepened and matured realizing they relied not on a few but the entire team to win--each one contributing to the success and significance of the whole.  Saturday it will all be put to the test as in the two previous matches with Whatcom both ended in 1-1 ties.  We encourage and invite everyone out to see U15 soccer at its best and most intense!!  We would also like to congratulate ALL DOS teams still advancing in the State Cup play we are all proud of you and wish you continued success!!  Hope to see you at the Park!!!  GO DOS!!!  Remember ladies ... "Chase the Dream Not the Competition!!"

Dos '93 Reds Advance to Quaterfinals in State Cup Championships

Arrant's '93 Reds outscored three opponents 12 to 1 to win their inital bracket play and advanced to play 3 Rivers Velocity in the Elimination round of the Washington State Championship Cup.  Dos came out strong against a very big and competitive 3 Rivers. T he game was extremely physical and at least 4 yellow cards were handed out during the course of the game.  Dos managed one goal on a PK after a hard foul in the box and then another on a nice cross and tip in going up 2-0 at the half.  Velocity came out composed and pressured the goal for some solid shots just over, wide and hitting the far post but couldn't quite find the net.  Dos regrouped and sealed the win with two more goals by the end of regulation.  It is now on to the Elite Eight of the coveted state championships.  Way to go girls!!! Remember ladies .......        "Chase The Dream Not The Competition!!!"

Arrant's '93 Reds Champions of Starfire's Field Turf College Showcase!!!!
After a three month hiatus for the high school soccer season the Reds regrouped and were able to win five straight to take home the Field Turf College Showcase Championship at Starfire Sports Complex!!!! Dos was down sometimes to one sub due to schedule conflicts, injuries and an unfortunate "header" incident. Once again we shuffled goalie duties from player to player but strong performances all around kept the ball out of our end and net for the majority of the tournament. Dos cruised through to the Semi Final where they met a very aggressive WPFC Black. Going into overtime Dos was able to put one in the net on a free kick into the upper corner to win it in Golden Goal. In the Championship Dos found themselves with their backs against the wall as HPFC Eagles squeaked a shot into the lower corner a few minutes before halftime. Dos came out poised and strong after halftime, pressured the goal and managed two quick goals then held off the Eagle attack to win it in regulation play. Coaches, players and parents are extremely pleased with the progress the team continues to make. Way to go girls ....YOU ROCK!!!!

Dos '93 Red took on the Washington State '94 ODP Pool Saturday at Marymoor Park. Dos drew first blood scoring on an aggressive offensive push on goal about 15 minutes into play. The ODP team answered just before half on a breakaway goal questioned as offsides but then allowed. With no referees the honor system worked great as there was no foul play or controversy and the sidelines were content. After halftime both teams came out strong and aggressive with  possession changing continuously. With a few minutes left the Reds managed the final and deciding goal and won the match 2-1. The sidelines were impressed at the level of play on both sides of the ball which caught the eyes of many uaffiliated with the match who could not differetiate one team from the other. The sidelines were absolutely packed with hundreds of standing room only spectators and fans who got to see Washington U14 soccer at its finest. Players, coaches and parents were disappointed but have nothing to hang their heads about as the growth, progress and potential of this team has grabbed the attention of the soccer elite and has earned them the respect and endearment of all the club teams who strive and struggle to compete against the Crossfire stronghold.
